Plomari Forum, participating with 4 of its members in the appointed 5 member council, for operating the subject library, have completed the temporary maintenance and painting of the 1st floor of the building, which presently functions as lending library, with a big stock of old books as well as modern ones, obtained after a campaign in Athens. There are also available two computers with free internet access for the library users.
The library is open Mondays to Fridays 09:00-12:00 and on Tuesdays & Thursdays 18:00-20:00. Since the library operation relies on volunteers, it might be closed certain days, if the volunteers have some other commitments. For this reason we propose to call the library on phone number (+30)22520 31410 to ensure it is open. You may also communicate with the library by email (firstname.lastname@example.org)
and to follow developments through the face book groups Plomari library and Plomari Forum.
On your first visit, for borrowing books, please have with you your ID and an electricity or phone bill for your registration as library user. Children without I.D. shall be accompanied by their parent for the first visit and the registration to be at parent’s name. It is also recommended the parent to communicate on phone with the library, when the child visits the library alone for borrowing books.
Non-residents of the area may borrow books by depositing five (5) euro per book, in a form of guarantee, which will be refunded upon return of the books. There are also many books in English and other languages available for the users.
The books must be returned to the library within three (3) weeks from the date of their borrowing.
A third computer has been installed, with a suitable software, for the electronic management of the library, where all the books and the users will be gradually uploaded. All three computers have been donated by the Monastery of Saint Rafael.
Plomari Forum intends, in due course to maintain and upgrade the ground floor of the building, for using it for other activities associated with the function of a library.
